Apperently h3h (of #javascript fame) is not happy with the current buzzword for this old and well known technology and invented his own TLA… Well, I like XAP more than the one that is used by the masses — for which libraries sprout in various places and qualities — and whose name I desperately try to avoid here :] So, if you feel the urge to give the XMLHTTP object a new name use XAP: a TLA is cooler than the name of a cleaner, no?

Anyway, in the end it's all Google's fault — anyone in need of a GMail invite

…and now for something completely different: Guano Apes kindly provided the soundtrack with Don't Give Me Names for the poors XMLHTTP objects crusade for acknowledgement.
