A text editor, that use tabs to manage the open documents, will sooner or later implement the feature to close documents when the user double clicks its tab. This happened to my favourite editor (no, no names will be mentioned here) just recently. Since then I do close documents on a regular basis which annoys the hell out of me: Did you ever browser through a rather complex code setup (opening the relevant files through a find in files) only to see one of the files vanish due to an accidental double click? In normal MDI environments a double click on the caption maximizes the window and the tabs in tabbed editors replace these captions so why mess with the users expectations?
